What is Aluminium Shuttering

Aluminium formwork is a technology used in construction for the casting of reinforced concrete structures. It is a system of modular, reusable, and lightweight aluminium panels, which are assembled on-site to form the structure of a building.

Benefits of Aluminium Shuttering

It can be used repeatedly with low average use-cost: Aluminum alloy formwork system adopts the integral extrusion forming as raw materials. With a normative construction, a set of formwork can be used more than 300 times in a low average use-cost.

Construction is Convenient and Effective:The assembly of aluminum alloy formwork is simple and convenient; the average weight is 23-24kg/m2. It can complete assembly by manual without any machines assistance. (Normally, the construction workers only need a spanner or a small hammer to assemble or remove). A skilled installation worker can install 20-30 square meters per day (compare with the wooden formworks, aluminum formworks do not require the technicians but a simple training to the construction workers before the installation).

Saving on Construction Time: Aluminum alloy formwork system is a fast assembles and removal system that shorten the construction period and save the administration cost. A set of formwork can build one store in every four days under a normative construction

Wide Application: Aluminum alloy formwork is best apply into the position such fields as wall, horizontal floor, column, beam, stairs, window sills, floating plate etc.

High Salvage Value:The salvage value of the aluminum alloy formwork system is very high when be scrapped as wastes.

No construction Garbage on Site:All parts of aluminum alloy formwork are reusable, and there's no garbage on site after the formwork removed to ensure the construction environment is safe, clean and tidy.

Flexibility: Aluminum alloy construction formwork came with different standard sizes and is flexible to assemble according to the requirement of the respective projects. Only 10-15% of non standard board need to be replace when the formwork is reused for another new project and reduced the cost.

Low Carbon Emission Reduction: Many developed countries have already stipulated that cannot apply wooden formwork in the construction projects but renewable formworks.

Good stability, high bearing capacity: All parts of Aluminum alloy formwork is assembled by Aluminum Alloy Plate. Once the system is assembled, it will be formed a complete framework with very good stability and Bearing capacity of up to 60 kn per square meter.

Convenient support system: Traditional construction method of formwork construction technology such as floor, platform, generally require full framing with higher cost whereas the support bars for the aluminum template are relatively less (spacing between the each independent support is 1350 mm) therefore provide larger work space, personnel access, materials handling for easy site management.

Surface effect of concrete after formwork removed: The quality of concrete surface is smooth after removing the aluminum alloy formwork and basically meets the requirement of finished and exposed concrete. There's no need to plastering and hence save the plastering cost.

Traditional Aluminium Formwork
Traditional aluminium formworks find wide application across diverse construction projects. Even for more complex and sophisticated structures, traditional aluminium forms often act as the foundation for other metal form varieties.
Due to the high adaptability quality of these formworks, construction houses can use them for any design requirements. Get the formwork customised according to your need and you and the concrete finish will be flawless.
Adaptable and customisable, traditional aluminium forms are widely popular across the world for a wide variety of construction projects.

Engineered Aluminium Formwork
When it comes to more sophisticated and modern aluminium shuttering varieties, engineered formworks made of aluminium remain a leading one. These alternatives come with prefabricated beams, panels and props.
Engineered aluminium formworks are ideal for rendering structural strength, dimensional accuracy, and precision to any building. This is why construction projects dealing with complex designs and architectural specifications rely on engineered forms.
The perfect angles, precise shapes, and dimensions of these forms make them ideal for complicated structural designs.

Modular Aluminium Formwork
If any construction project has to build multiple structures of the same specifications, modular aluminium formworks remain the best alternative at any time. These formworks help make the construction work more systematic.
Owing to its modular mechanism, installing and dismantling these formworks require much less time. As a result, the project work progresses at a faster pace the overall project cost subsides. You can use the modular aluminium formworks for multiple projects as well.
You have to invest once and use the formwork several times in a row. For building residential complexes, these formworks remain the best choice.

Climbing Aluminium Formwork
As the name suggests, climbing aluminium formworks are perfect for tall and vertical structures. When you use these forms to build multi-storeyed structures, you do not have to use scaffoldings externally to continue at higher heights.
You can place the formwork on lifting brackets operated mechanically or using the hydraulic method. Once mounted, the bracket will take the formwork upwards and the construction work will continue without any risk or hindrances.

Tunnel Aluminium Formwork
These aluminium forms look like a tunnel due to their characteristic structure. In these formworks, interlinked panels and bulkheads form a long structure that resembles a tunnel. These forms are particularly useful for building hotel rooms or housing units.
These forms move horizontally facilitating the process of the linear construction of similar-looking rooms. Tunnel forms are perfect for pacing up the construction process of structures of standard dimensions.

History of Aluminum Formwork

As we explore the story of aluminum formwork, it's clear that this innovative technology has a rich and fascinating history that spans decades.

From its early beginnings to its current widespread adoption, aluminum formwork has undergone a remarkable transformation.
In the mid-20th century, the construction industry was plagued by inefficient and labor-intensive practices.

It was during this time that pioneers in the field recognized the potential of aluminum to revolutionize the way we build.

By the 1960s, the first aluminum formwork systems were being developed, offering a lightweight, durable, and reusable alternative to traditional methods.

As the years went by, advancements in design and manufacturing enabled the production of more sophisticated and efficient systems.
The 1980s saw the introduction of modular aluminum formwork, which further streamlined the construction process.
This innovative approach allowed for faster, more precise, and cost-effective construction, freeing builders from the constraints of traditional methods.

Aluminum formwork is an indispensable tool in modern construction, empowering builders to push the boundaries of what's possible.
As we continue to drive innovation, we're opening up new possibilities for architects, engineers, and builders worldwide.

Major Components Of Aluminum Formwork

Panels

The panels are the main structural element of the system. They are the largest and most important component of the formwork. They are made up of sheets of aluminium that are held together by braces. The panels are what give the structure its shape and strength. They have interlocking features, so they can be quickly assembled and disassembled without the need for tools.

Connectors

The connectors are used to join the panels together. They are made of aluminium and are easy to use. They can be quickly connected and disconnected without the need for any extra tools. The clamps are used to hold the panels together while the concrete is being poured. They are attached to the panels with bolts to fasten the panels properly.

Bracing

The braces are used to connect the panels together. They are made of aluminium and are bolted or welded to the panels. Aluminium braces are mainly used for supporting roofs, beams, columns, and other parts of buildings.

Aluminum formwork removal details processing

Mold removal process
Remove the wall pillar side mold
In general, the wall pillar side form can be removed 12 hours after the concrete is poured, first remove the diagonal support, and then remove the through the wall bolts. To remove the bolt through the wall, loosen the nut with a wrench, remove the gasket, remove the lower back, tap one end of the bolt until the bolt exits the concrete, then remove the pin connecting the formwork, and use a crowbar to move the formwork, so that the formwork is separated from the wall. Remove the formwork and accessories in time to clean, carry the same position on the first layer flat stack.

Remove the top die
In general, the top die can be removed after 36 -- 48 hours. Removal of the top die starts from the position of the beam and the plate support rod, and the pin of the beam and the plate support rod and the connecting parts connected to them are removed. Then remove the formwork and pry it from the concrete with a crowbar. When removing, ensure that the support rod remains intact and does not loosen. Remove the formwork and accessories in time to clean, carry the same position on the first layer flat stack.

Remove the support rod
The removal of the support rod shall comply with the concrete strength requirements of the "Code for Acceptance of Construction Quality of Concrete Structure Engineering" for the removal of the bottom mold, and the removal time of the support rod shall be determined according to the indent test block for the removal of the mold. In general, remove the plate bottom support after 10 days, remove the beam bottom support after 14 days, and remove the cantilever support after 28 days. To remove each support, grab the support bar with one hand, loosen the direction with the other hand and hammer the adjustable fulcrum to remove the support bar.

Details of mold removal
The removal of the aluminum formwork on the inner wall takes the bottom of the aluminum formwork as the rotating shaft to leave the concrete. The aluminum formwork is separated from the concrete on the side of the wall with a crowbar, and then the special pull rod for removing the aluminum formwork is used to remove it. In the process of dismantling, the surface should be avoided to lift the skin, and special attention should be paid to the corner of the wall and the end of the mold is not damaged.

After the connection between the aluminum formwork and the external guide wall panel is removed, the tower crane can be used to pull the concrete directly from the top, and directly hoisted to the same position on the next layer after cleaning on the spot.

Floor panel bottom aluminum formwork and beam bottom aluminum formwork removal, starting from the floor keel, should first remove the pin and the connecting rod between the keel and the support head, and then remove the keel and the adjacent floor formwork pin and wedge, and then remove the keel. When removing the floor aluminum formwork along the wall, the top edge formwork should be removed first.

Transfer can be used in four ways:
(1) The overall large aluminum formwork with large weight and size is transferred through the nearest staircase.
(2) Through the hollow place transfer.
(3) Transfer through the hole reserved on the floor, and then pour concrete to seal the aluminum formwork after the transportation.
(4) Transfer through the external wall scaffolding.
